John Craddock

John CraddockAfter beginning his career in taxation at H M Revenue & Customs 25 years ago, John moved into the tax and accountancy profession, where he has accumulated considerable experience of dealing with the owner-managed business sector, as well as various other specialist areas of direct taxation.

John has for a number of years advised both owner-managers directly and their accountants, on a wide range of planning and other technical areas. He is qualified at both ATT and CTA levels.

In addition, he has several years experience of dealing with technical queries from accountants in a helpline format. One of his strengths in this area is being able to discuss technical matters with accountants in a manner that they understand, whether the subject matter is tax planning, or providing technical support in a dispute with the Revenue authorities.

John's experience extends to such diverse areas as:

  • Residence and domicile
  • Offshore planning
  • Property taxation
  • A comprehensive understanding of Capital Gains Tax
  • Business mergers, acquisitions and sales and HMRC clearance procedures
  • Stamp Taxes
  • CIS
  • The ever-changing Corporate Tax regime
  • Capital Allowances planning

John is equally adept at personal and business taxation, having dealt with both at compliance and consultancy level and his philosophy in advising in these areas is the same: to provide practical, useful advice which can be implemented in the simplest possible and most tax-efficient way.

One of his main motivations behind joining PTC was to help provide accountants with a support structure that allows them to provide the widest possible range of tax services to their clients, on a continuous basis.
