Professional Tax Consultancy provides general informal tax advice by telephone to accountants and other professional advisers through our team of skilled and experienced tax specialists, to help professional advisers give the right guidance to their clients.

The Helpline offers a wide range of services in key areas to assist professionals in meeting their clients' needs, without having to maintain dedicated and expensive in house resources.

No one can predict when a client will need urgent advice, but when they do, they expect the response to be quick and accurate. Our consultants enable professional advisers to provide a high quality and a uniquely comprehensive range of services.

Professional Tax Consultants are independent, do not undertake any compliance work and guarantee not to interfere with client relationships.

The service operates from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, excluding public holidays.

We will endeavour to answer queries within 24 hours of submission, but cannot guarantee that this will always be the case. We accept no liability in respect of delays beyond 24 hours in answering calls.

Although access to the helpline is unlimited, we do have a "fair use" policy and reserve the right to restrict access if this policy is not adhered to.

As a rule of thumb, we find that most enquiries require less than 15 minutes telephone discussion. If we are still discussing things after 15 minutes it generally means that the query is posing significant difficulty for the practitioner and therefore formal written advice is probably needed, for the protection of both the client and the practitioner. In that case we will provide you with an estimate of cost for any work that is recommended.

Joining this invaluable service could not be simpler. All you have to do is register. You can register straight away by calling us on 0845 854 3334 , by emailing us at info@protaxconsult.com or by completing and returning the registration form. Following registration we will send you an engagement letter to sign and return and you can then immediately start using the service.

The fees will be charged at a rate of £50.00 plus VAT per partner/director per month for the Helpline advice. As an alternative you can pay on a call by call basis of £25 plus VAT per 15 minutes or part thereof.

Charges are reviewed annually on 1 January.
